Your reliable partner for the Nigerian side of every repatriation.
SureRest works directly with funeral directors and mortuaries overseas. We handle everything on the Nigerian side so the handover is coordinated, documented, and carried out with the dignity the family expects.
We become your single point of contact on the Nigerian side.
When a family in your care needs a loved one repatriated to Nigeria, you need a counterpart on the ground who is professional, reachable, and methodical. That is what SureRest offers.
One reachable counterpart
From your first message, you deal with one methodical team on the ground, not a chain of handlers and middlemen.
Documentation handled correctly
We know exactly what is needed and in what form, and we flag anything that could cause a delay early, before it holds up the journey home.
Progress you can pass on
We keep you informed at each stage, so you can reassure the family with confidence and never have to chase us for an update.

Direct line
One Nigeria-side team, reachable at every stage.
What SureRest handles on your behalf
Once you have prepared and shipped the remains, our work begins. Here is what we take care of from the Nigerian side.
Ministry of Health documentation support
We coordinate the required Nigerian documentation so the file is complete and the clearance process moves without obstruction.
Airport cargo reception and clearance
We are present at the airport to receive the remains once the Airway Bill is issued and handle all clearance formalities.
Airway Bill tracking and flight monitoring
We monitor the flight and the Airway Bill so we know when to expect the cargo and can alert you if anything changes.
Liaison with airlines and cargo handlers
We coordinate directly with airlines and cargo handling agents in Nigeria to keep the process on schedule.
Local transport to the family
We arrange dignified transport from the airport to the final destination, across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Uyo, and beyond on request.
Regular updates to you and the family
We keep you and the family informed at each stage so everyone knows what is happening and no one is left waiting.
How the handover process works
The process between your funeral home and ours is straightforward. Here is how it typically runs.
Initial contact and information exchange
You contact SureRest with the details of the case: the origin country, the destination in Nigeria, and what documentation is already in place. We confirm what we need from you and explain the Nigerian side clearly.
Documentation coordination
We coordinate with you to ensure the required documents are in order: death certificate, embalming certificate, free-from-infectious-disease certificate, sealing certificate, passport of the deceased, and consular authorisation where required. We advise early if anything is missing.
Flight and Airway Bill confirmation
Once you book the airline and issue the Airway Bill, you share the flight and cargo information with us. We monitor from that point and coordinate receipt at the Nigerian airport.
Reception, clearance, and transport
We receive the remains at the airport, handle clearance, and arrange dignified transport to the family's destination. We inform you once handover to the family is complete.
Ongoing updates throughout
You receive a status update from us at each stage. If anything changes or requires attention, we communicate directly with you so you can keep the family informed without having to chase us for information.
